The Diet For The Garden is a new lifestyle program reducing one protein or amino acid called, Methionine. Doing this has been shown in studies to improve quality and prolong life and in many cases reverse and prevent diseases. One Italian study, found The Diet For The Garden to be beneficial to in kidney disease, even advanced cases. They found it was safe when used with doctor’s care. It cuts down on the frequency of dialysis and the further loss of kidney function, by reducing protein intake and decreasing the nitrogen load on the kidneys.

Most people eating a tradtional western diet eat too much protein! This can lead to gout, kidney disease and other disorders. When you eat according to The Diet For The Garden, you are getting foods that are naturally low in Methionine but still have other amino acids necessary to continue to construct, maintain and repair our bodies. If you eat fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, you will receive all of the proteins you need and still maintain low Methionine.

Baking, steaming, stewing, boiling and sautéing, as well as processing with blender etc and chemically cooking with lemon, lime and fermentation are the best cooking practices. Over-browning your food can lead to a toxin called glycotoxins. Glycotoxins are a group of highly oxidizing compound known to be of significance in diabetes, heart disease and other chronic diseases. They are created with sugars and free amino groups of proteins, lipids and nucleic acid. These toxins bind to cell surfaces or body proteins and alter their structure and function causing oxidative stress and inflammation leading to disease. The amazing thing about eating the foods included in The Diet For The Garden is vegetables and fruits contain few of glycotoxins even after cooking. Consumption of a diet high in these toxins are found in conditions such as atherosclerosis and kidney disease. Restriction of glycotoxins can prevent vascular and kidney disfunction, diabetes, can improve insulin sensitivity and accelerate wound healing. Preventing the formation of glycotoxins can lengthen lifespan.

Remember to reduced cooking time, use water in your cooking, lower the temperature and use lemon juice, vinegars, and other acidic ingredients including tomatoes, limes, etc. This can be as simple as using a marinade. Animal products and grilling, broiling, searing, roasting without water, and frying propagate and accelerate the formation of glycotoxins. The foods of The Diet For The Garden contain few glycotoxins even after cooking!

In review, reduce glycotoxins to reduce chronic diseases and aging:

  • Eat fruits and vegetables
  • Lower temperature while cooking
  • Reduce cooking time
  • Cook with water
  • Marinade in acidic juices for 1 hour
  • Use acidic ingredients such as lemon juice or vinegars in cooked foods
